Ashley Madekwe and Ashley Leggat
Madekwe is a child of an ethnically diverse family in South London in England. She's English, and her father was Nigerian. Her family was raised on a south London council estate, and went to The Brit School at age 14. In London, she studied at the Royal Academy of Dramatic Art where her acting certificate was obtained. At the academy and performing in numerous stage productions including the King Henry V as Princess Katherine as well as Wuthering Heights as Catherine Earnshaw.
Madekwe started acting in Storm Damage. In the years since she has appeared in Teachers as well as Doctors. Madekwe's debut film is her role in the Woody Allen 2007 movie Cassandra's Dream. She starred opposite Colin Farrell & Ewan MacGregor. Following that she portrayed Elisha (a BBC Three drama-pilot) in West 10 LDN. Additionally she appeared in Trexx as Ollie and six episodes in Flipside. In 2008, the actress was offered Bambi, the lead role in the ITV2 comedy Secret Diary of a Call Girl. Madekwe starred as the lead character for How to Lose Friends And Alienate Others, a comedy made in 2008. The credits on stage for Madekwe are Little Sweet Thing and Flight Path.
Madekwe made her US debut in the series The Beautiful Life in 2009. The show ran just two episodes on The CW, and was later ended. Ashley Davenport was her role in ABC's drama Revenge. Madekwe was in the episodes in the series' second season as a regular. However, in May 2013, the word broke that the actress would leave the show after her guest appearance in the opening episode for its third season. Madekwe starred as Tituba in the TV show Salem between 2014 and 2016. Her long-time friend, Iddo, married Madekwe in June 2012. Both have appeared in Secret Diary of a Call Girl. They have also appeared as partners in Salem.
Ashley Leggat grew up in Hamilton Ontario and was a part of a large family. She was raised by her parents Roy and Patty along with her older brothers -Rob, Brett, and twins Todd and Bram. Ashley grew in arenas or baseball parks since her four athletic brothers all played baseball, hockey, and basketball in summer and winter. Ashley had never been able to actually walk. She danced. When she reached two and a half and a half, she was a part of Baby Ballet. Ashley discovered a love for dancing after she started Baby Ballet. After graduating from high school, Ashley danced competitively in the highest divisions of ballet, tap, jazz, pointe, acrobatics, musical theatre, lyrical, and hip hop. She won the top individualist in all the main dance contests, including, International Dance Challenge, Showstoppers 5-6-7-8 Showtime, Flash Dance, and Dance, Dance, Dance just to mention a few.
