Alison Maria Krauss - born July 23rd 1971 - is a popular American bluegrass and country vocalist. She began her career in the industry at an early age competing in local contests before 10, and recording for the first time at the age of 14. She signed to Rounder Records in 1985 and made her debut single album, a solo one in the year 1987. The year 1989 saw her invited to be a part of Alison Krauss & Union Station who she is a part of.
